An opportunity awaits to join a motivated and energetic team providing HIMCO management and key stakeholders throughout The Hartford with detailed portfolio analysis, forecasting, and reporting support.

The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the Director of Investment Finance and play a key role in supporting net investment income and capital forecasting, while contributing to a variety of HIMCO and Finance strategic initiatives. This position offers significant interaction with portfolio managers, FP&A partners, and colleagues across the Finance organization.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the office (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Primary responsibilities include the following:

• Support The Hartford's net investment income (NII) outlook process, including forecasting invested assets, investment income, and portfolio yields across the investment portfolio
• Partner with Treasury, Enterprise Risk Management, and other business areas to support regulatory and rating agency capital reporting, forecasting, and scenario analysis
• Provide detailed analysis and monitoring of NII & Capital results and develop improved variance analysis
• Provide valuable financial insights and management reporting, including the creation of presentations supporting Executive Leadership Team, quarterly business review, and other internal meetings
• Assist in the production of monthly key performance indicators utilized by HIMCO ELT
• Ability to react and respond to various ad hoc analyses related to the investment portfolio
• Drive continuous improvement through automation initiatives and enhanced analytical capabilities leveraging AI and other internal applications

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a motivated and analytical professional with strong technical capabilities, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to deepen their understanding of investments, capital markets, and financial forecasting. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred, 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a related investment/finance profession
• Solid knowledge of capital markets with a desire to continue learning in a rapidly changing environment
• Proactive individual with well-developed communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to successfully balance multiple competing priorities with a proven ability to solve problems, both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
